TSUULL Expands Transportation Support for Students from Low-Income Families

In a continued effort to reduce financial barriers and promote equitable access to higher education, Alisher Navo’i Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature has strengthened its transportation support for students from low-income households.

At the beginning of the academic year, the University provided free annual public transportation passes to all eligible students. These passes are valid throughout the entire city of Tashkent and allow students to freely use all types of public transport — including buses, metro, and trams — except taxis and fixed-route minibuses (marshrutkas). This ensures that students can commute to the University and travel across the city without incurring additional transportation costs.

The program currently benefits 10.1% of the University’s student body, reaffirming TSUULL’s long-term commitment to social inclusion and equal learning opportunities. By implementing these targeted support measures, the University continues to align its institutional policies with SDG 1: No Poverty, contributing to a more accessible and inclusive educational environment.
