History of Uzbek literature and folklore department !

On the basis of the study of Uzbek classical literature and folklore, established by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 13, 2016, the department of “History of Uzbek literature and folklore”  , to bring up as broad-minded and independent-minded, spiritually mature people ”The department was founded by the National University of Uzbekistan in 1918 as the Department of Literature and Philosophy.  First, the department was headed by Professor Abdurauf Fitrat, Professor Abdurahmon Sadi, then G. Karimov, A. Khodzhiakhmedov, B. Kasimov, N. Jabborov, H. Boltaboyev.

 The department was established in 2016 at the Faculty of Uzbek Philology.  The main activity of the department is in-depth study of Uzbek classical literature, inculcation of the essence of literary and spiritual heritage of our ancestors in the minds of students, teaching the laws of classical poetry, conducting extensive research on the development of literature, Navoi studies, Uzbek folklore.  The tasks of learning and collecting them.  The purpose of the department is to bring up young people with a wide range of professional skills, independent and modern thinking, armed with national and spiritual values, advanced ideas put forward by our writers, to direct talented students to scientific activities.

The structure of the department: 6 doctors of sciences, including 3 professors and 6 candidates of sciences, associate professors, 8 doctors of philology (PhD) and 2 teachers dealing with educational problems. Scientific potential: 87.5%.

Priorities of the department

 “Problems of introduction of innovative research methods in the scientific study of Uzbek classical literature and folklore.”  The department studies the scientific and theoretical problems of Uzbek classical literature and folklore, in particular, views and attitudes to the literary and cultural environment, Navoi studies and its stages of development, classical poetics, the laws of historical and literary process, the literature of the national renaissance.  He specializes in the collection, scientific study and publication of samples of Uzbek folklor
