The English Language Department is one of the leading departments of the "Alisher Navo'i Tashkent State University of Uzbek the Language and Literature".

The purpose of teaching is practical English, integrated English, etc. It's taught by the department's professors. They provide students with a general practical understanding of these subjects. An important task of the department is the formation and development of the language ability to apply the acquired practical knowledge in the field of foreign languages ​​in everyday life. It is about creating and developing the first fundamental concepts in young people who have the ability to learn English. At the department, professors and teachers have organized and are carrying out sections such as “English Video Club”, “Fun English” va “English For Beginners". These sections teach students basically practical English.

The structure of the department: the department has 14 teachers.

Priorities of the department:

• Creation of modern textbooks based on selected literature published abroad.

• Development of teaching materials for all subjects and their implementation through the means of modern information and communication technologies.

• Regular monitoring of academic literature published abroad concerning the disciplines taught at the department.

• Involvement of students and teachers in research, introduction of new innovative educational technologies.
