Achievements of English Language Department

   Alisher Navo'i Tashkent State University of the Uzbek Language and Literature is also working to promote the study of foreign languages. On July 6, the Department of Foreign Academic Literature was established at the Information Resource Center of the University. The library is a joint venture with the US Embassy and has more than 2,000 foreign textbooks. These are mainly rare books published in recent years by the world's leading publishers.

   Gulnora  Niyazova, the senior teacher of English language Department, has been selected as a finalist for the Fall 2021 cohort of The Faculty Enrichment Program (FEP) in US. Gulnora  Niyazova, twice alumna,  finalist  and participant of  TEA (Excellence in in teaching of English and American studies) and PIE (Partners In Education) programs organized and operated by the American Councils for International Education: ACTR/ACCELS, has been working at our university for more than 3 years and teaching the courses of language teaching methodology. For information, the program offers university instructors from Uzbekistan the opportunity to enhance their pedagogical skills and professional disciplinary expertise through a four-month U.S academic enrichment program. We wish Gulnora  Niyazova  a successful completion of the program and look forward to to her applying what she has gained during the program here in our university.

   During the 2020-2021 academic year, our department was staffed by Carolyn Mitchell, who visited our university through the Fulbright program by the US Embassy. In collaboration with the teachers of the department, they conducted regular English classes in groups and shared with students the knowledge and skills that develop speaking in English. In addition, every Wednesday at the university, “Speaking club” was organized where university students learned the secrets of developing speaking in English and speaking on a variety of topics.

   On May 5, 2021, the department organized an international scientific-practical online conference on "Current issues of foreign language teaching: problems and solutions." As well as university teachers, professors of higher educational institutions of the republic and also foreign professors from Ireland, Mongolia, England and Russia attended in this conference with their abstracts. Articles were accepted in three languages: Uzbek, Russian and English.The conference aimed at providing a forum for researchers, teachers and educational representatives to share their knowledge and promote creativity and innovation on.                      

   The senior teacher, Mirzayeva Qoldigiz has been awarded with the medal "30 years of Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan"
