
TSUULL Conducted an International Conference ‘Preventing Violence Against Women (VAW) and Ensuring Gender Equality in Education’, 25 October
On October 25, 2023 the International Scientific and Practical Conference ‘Preventing Violence Against Women (VAW) and Ensuring Gender Equality in Education’ was held by TSUULL Women's Council led by Gulnoza Juraeva, Head of TSUULL Women’s Committee and TSUULL Youth Union headed by Orifjon Olimjanov jointly with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation.
The Conference was approved by the Decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan ‘On Additional Measures to Improve Rehabilitation and Adaptation of Women Victims of Violence and Suicide Prevention’ dated 6 October, 2021 No. 625.
Dildora Soliho'jayeva, Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Department of Youth Policy and Spiritual and Educational Affairs Senior Specialist, public activists, scientists, doctoral students, masters and talented students took part in the Conference.
The Conference attendees were also welcomed by the National Pop Orchestra Team named after Botir Zokirov and singers performed songs from their repertoire.
Gender Sensitivity occupies an important place in the modern scientific paradigm and the system of competences of the 21st century. Gender Equality is one of the foundations of sustainable development. At the international level, UN Sustainable Development Goals include issues of gender equality, empowerment of women and girls as well as social equality within other goals. In accordance with the 3rd goal of the Millennium Declaration (Empowering the Rights and Opportunities of Women), the UN calls on the member states to develop the boundaries of consideration of gender issues at the governmental and parliamentary levels. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development affirms the directive to achieve gender equality and take into account gender aspects, which includes a number of goals, the challenges of ensuring gender equality and empowering all women states: ‘Ensuring gender equality and empowering women makes a decisive contribution to the promotion and achievement of all goals and objectives. Women should have equal access to quality education, economic resources and opportunities to participate in political life, and have equal opportunities with men and boys in terms of employment, leadership and decision-making at all levels. should be. All forms of discrimination and violence against women, including those perpetrated by men and boys, will be eliminated. Regular consideration of gender aspects in the implementation of the agenda is of great importance’. In particular, it is an urgent task to carry out sociological research in this field.
