Girl Power at TSUULL University: Promoting Uzbek Traditional Folk Sports
Safeguarding and promoting Traditional Sports and Games (TSG) as sports practices and intangible cultural heritage is a key challenge for the future development of sport and societies.
National sports competitions and games inherited from our ancestors are often organized in different parts of our country and regulated legally by the Decision of the President of May 25, 2022 'On measures to popularize and develop ethnosports'.
On 18 May 2023 at TSUULL University a competition was organized among girls in folk sports such as tug-of-war, hurling and five-stone. At the national games competition organized by the initiative of the University Women's Council, the essence of folk games and their role in physical, intellectual, spiritual and moral terms were also given.
According to the final results:
the 3rd place went to Nilufar Kholjigitova
the 2nd place to Nuria Astanaqulova
1st place to Madina Mirzayeva
All students who won traditional folk games prizes were awarded with souvenirs and diplomas. We are all equally responsible for the restoration and development of national and traditional sports, folk games, the development and implementation of their uniform procedures, as well as the promotion of a healthy lifestyle among the population.
