     The department of "Computer Linguistics and Digital Technologies" was established in 2019 on the basis of the Department of "Information Technology". The department provides students with knowledge, skills and abilities in natural language processing (NLP), automatic translation, solving practical problems of creating language corpus, development of philological information systems, search engines, computer graphics, database creation and use.  


     In 2021, the Research Center for Computer Linguistics was established at the department to model philological issues, create and study their information and knowledge bases; research on language modeling for artificial intelligence, as well as lexical databases - linguistic ontology, information retrieval systems, computer lexicography, machine translation, computer linguistic terminology, computer linguodidactics, and the development of linguistic digital technologies.

 

 

The head of the department  Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Technical sciences, associate professor  Elov Botir Boltayevich.  

 


FUNCTIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT:

  • To develop the competence of non-computer science students in the use of computer technology and text programs in their work to improve their professional skills;
  • Development of software and linguistic software on linguistic issues in the field of computer linguistics;
  • Modeling of the Uzbek language for artificial intelligence;
  • Creation of national and educational corps of Uzbek language, as well as other types of language corps;
  • Development of electronic dictionaries in the Uzbek language;
  • Development of information technologies and information marketing services in the field of digital publishing and education;
  • Introduction of new information technologies and research results into the educational process;
  • To develop students' skills in targeted use of information technology and the Internet.
