Achievements of Translation theory and practice department

Elnara Bagavova, Ilhom Kholmominov and foreign student (People’s Republic of China) Li Didi from the Department of Theory and Practice of Translation successfully defended their thesis and received the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Philology.
On the initiative of the department, on September 25-26 of the current academic year, an international scientific conference was organized on the topic “The impact of Zahir Ad-din Muhammad Babur’s legacy on the advancement of Eastern statehood and culture”. Scientists from USA, Japan, Pakistan, France, Russia, Italy, and Iran visited the conference and they participated with their lectures.
In order to further strengthen international relations and exchange experience, online seminar classes were organized by University of California professor Janie Aydin and Pakistan Punjab University professor Abbas Syed Qamar.

Professors-teachers of the department have done a lot of work on scientific and literary publications this year. Including:

  • - Ziyodakhon Teshaboyeva Kadyrovna published “Uzbek-Russian-English Dictionary of Phraseological Units in Baburnama”, “English-Uzbek-Russian Dictionary of Political Terms”, “ Dictionary of English Translations of Phraseological Units and Paremias in Baburnama”, the monograph “The Linguistic Charm of Baburnama in the Interpretation of English Translators”.
  • - “Scientific technical translation” methodical manual, “Scholars of translation studies” (B.A. Kholikov, U.A. Egamberdiyeva) theoretical-scientific manual for students of translation, “Snow Country” (Yasunari Kawabata) under the editorship of Teshaboyeva Ziyodakhon Kadyrovna (Translation of Ravshanova Madina Ulug’bekovna) novel was published.
  • - Umida Egamberdiyeva’s manual “Famous translators and their creativity” was published under the guidance of Temirova Nigina.
  • - The manual “A journey through literary translation” was published by Abdazova Gulsanam, Gofforova Nazokat, Mukhitdinova.

Teshaboyeva Ziyodakhon Kadyrovna DSc Professor, Elnara Rafikovna Bagavova, Ph.D. Associate Professor, Turdiyeva Hulkar Komilovna, Ph.D. Associate Professor, and Egamberdiyeva Umida Akmalovna, Bachelor’s student, were awarded certificates by the state institution “Intellectual Property Center” under the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Moreover, a number of students received grants to study at foreign universities based on international exchange programs. Allanazarova Barchinoy (English and American studies, Master’s degree) and Rahimjonova Zuhra (National Scholarship Program of the Slovak Republic) are among them.
