Vytautas Magnus University (Lithuania) Opens the Nomination/Application Period for the Spring Semester of 2023/2024

Please note that VMU does not offer scholarships under VMU Bilateral Exchange Programme. Only students nominated via the online system will receive information on the application procedure. 

The exchange students can be accepted according to VMU Exchange eligibility criteria:

  • 1) All exchange students must be nominated by their home university;
  • 2) The candidate's GPA must be at least 70% of the maximum grade;
  • 3) During the application, 2 semesters must be completed by an undergraduate student/and 1 semester - by a graduate student;
  • 4) English language proficiency should be at least B2 level according to the European language levels (or equivalence).

Deadline for nominations – November 10th
Deadline for applications – November 17th
Regarding the deadlines for nomination and application submission, Vytautas Magnus University will consider specific cases where it will be necessary to postpone the deadlines.

TSUULL and Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary Sign a Memorandum of Cooperation, 24 october

On October 24, 2023 within the framework of the official visit of the  Delegation of Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary to TSUULL, the Acting Rector, Professor László Trócsányi established partnership with University. 

The guests were welcomed by Prof.Dr. Shuhrat Sirojiddinov, Acting TSUULL Rector and Prof.Dr. Nozliya Normurodova, TSUULL Vice-Rector for International Cooperation. At the beginning of the conversation, the leaders of both HEIs spoke about the history, mission and future plans of their universities. 

Concrete plans have been drawn up to organize scientific conferences, scientific seminars and short-term internships of specialists in the field of Sociology and Psychology. The parties signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.

 

During the meeting, proposals were approved for the preparation of projects within the framework of the Erasmus+ Program, the organization of academic exchange of students and support for the professional development of professors and teachers. It was also agreed to prepare proposals for the opening of the Uzbek Language and Culture Center at Károli Gáspár University.

 

As a member of Delegation, Dr. Miklós Sárközy, Iranologist, Professor of History at Károli Gáspár University, noted that relations with Uzbekistan are very important in studying the history of the East, and that Uzbek literature and culture have deep roots.

Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary is one of the top private universities in Budapest, Hungary. It is ranked #103 in Europe University Rankings - Eastern Europe 2024.

Webinar with El-Yurt Umidi Foundation for TSUULL Students, 25 October

The El-Yurt Umidi Foundation aims to finance scholarships for young Uzbek students to enroll in master’s and doctoral programs within prestigious foreign universities and research centers.

TSUULL will host a meet-up for students – we got the chance to know in detail how to apply for a grant to study abroad by ‘El-Yurt Umidi’ Government Foundation. It’s important to have a space like this for students to meet up, with more meet-ups planned!

TSUULL Uzbek School Celebrates the National Uzbek Language Day Engaging Students Through Outdoor Learning Environment, 20 October

According to the law, October 21 is the Day of the Uzbek language, also known as the Day of the State Language of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The President signed a Decree On measures to radically increase the role and authority of the Uzbek language as the state language”, and declared October 21 a Holiday of the Uzbek language.
Due to the National Uzbek Language Day, the annual school picnic for students was organized on Friday 20 October as a part of the general program of the school at the Botanical Garden Picnic Spot in Tashkent. 
The TSUULL Uzbek School Picnic (TUSP) is a grassroots initiative that brings our students together each year. The cool weather and the warmth of sunshine, made everyone feel refreshed. Together with TSUULL Uzbek School Language Teacher Ms. Durdona Ermatova, students from U.S.A., Australia, New Zealand, Philippines, South Korea, China and Russia learnt by heart the words and phrases connected with Uzbek food and food related vocabulary. The picnic truly gave a temporary relief from their studies. Everyone enjoyed an appetizing lunch. 

Various events, programs and activities at school makes study for the students more interesting and engaging. Uzbek School is an outstanding TSUULL Project known for its academic excellence, nurturing approach and welcoming community. During the courses, Uzbek language is taught using the most modern methods and tools: in small or medium groups or individually according to the wishes of language learners. 

We are sure that the students feel fresh and are ready to take up their studies with renewed vigor.

The Department of Mother Tongue and Literature Education was established in 2023 as part of the Faculty of Mother Tongue and Literature Education. The main activities of the department include effective teaching of Uzbek language and literature to students at various educational levels, preparing pedagogical staff at the level of international standards, and contributing to the improvement of the quality of education based on this.

5 professors who have the academic levels teach in this department. Among them, 3 have a Doctor of Science degree in pedagogy (DSc), and 2 have a Doctor of Philosophy degree in pedagogy (PhD).

The main directions of research of the department are as follows:
Teaching methodology of the mother tongue - introducing students to theoretical issues of teaching methodology of the mother tongue (concepts, theories and their evidence, methods for solving practical issues in the field, etc.), identifying the content and objectives of the main issues studied in the field, providing information about the didactics and methodology of the mother tongue, and developing professional competence related to how to teach the mother tongue as a subject. At the same time, it serves to help students think logically, draw scientific conclusions, shape the skills to solve theoretical and practical issues in teaching methodology of the mother tongue.
Foundations of Assessment Theory - introducing students to the latest theoretical approaches and practical issues in the assessment process in philological education. In addition, by teaching the foundations of assessment theory and practice, it helps to shape the concept, tools, methods, and techniques for assessing content, tools, methods, and textbooks in mother tongue and literature education.

The foundations of scientific research related to teaching languages-  include introducing to the students the modern scientific research methods in language education. Furthermore, it provides the students with an opportunity to get knowledge about conducting a research by teaching the main issues based on scientific research.

Foundations of Language Didactics - Master's degree - Shaping and Developing the Analytical Capacity to Analyze Processes Related to Language Teaching Theory, Linguistics, and Didactic Integration in Students.

Teaching Methodology for Special Subjects - Familiarizing Master's students with the nature of subjects in the field of language and literature, their unique features in teaching, methods of solving practical issues in the field, and others) at various stages of education, defining the content and scope of the main Issues studied in the field, as well as developing students' logical thinking, scientific reasoning, and the skills to solve theoretical and practical problems in the field.

Teacher's speech culture - providing close assistance to teachers and educators engaged in education and upbringing of the young generation, in their development as competent professionals who can express their thoughts freely, correctly, expressively, logically, and eloquently.

Foundations of developing speech skills - involves familiarizing students with methodologies aimed at enhancing their oral and written communication, reading comprehension, and listening comprehension skills.
