UZBEKISTAN & AZERBAIJAN: STRENGTHENING EXTERNAL RELATIONS

On April 11th, Alisher Navo’i Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature welcomed Azerbaijani delegation and hosted the presentation of the monograph "Turkic ideology and creative basis in the works of Nizami Ganjavi and Alisher Navo’i. "The conference was organized by Heydar Aliyev Azerbaijan Cultural Center in Tashkent and Azerbaijan Scientific Research Center named after Fuzuli in Alisher Navo’i Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature.

A delegation led by Ms.Ganira Pashayeva, Chairman of the Culture Committee of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan, Mr.Akif Marifli, Head of the Department of the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan, Mr.Vasif Jannatov, Head of Ganja Regional Culture Department visited our university.

Several representatives from both sides delivered their speeches during the event, namely, Professor Nurboy Jabborov, Head of the Department of Alisher Navo’i Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature, Mr.Samir Abbasov, Director of the Heydar Aliyev Azerbaijan Cultural Center, Mr.Bahodir Khalikov, Vice-Rector for Youth Affairs and Spiritual Enlightenment, Ms.Gulbahor Ashurova, Head of the Fuzuli Research Center. 

The University Youth Union headed by leader Orifjon Olimjanov and members of the "Fuzuli dilbandlari" also participated actively during the event. The guests expressed their gratitude to both Professor Sh. Sirojiddinov and Gulbahor Ashurova, authors of the monograph "Turkic ideology and creative basis in the works of Nizami Ganjavi and Alisher Navo’i."

It is worth mentioning that the monument of Nizami Ganjavi in Tashkent is a symbol of respect for Azerbaijani people, ancient history, culture, strong will which goes back centuries and promising future. Similarly, the monument to Alisher Navo’i situated in Baku expresses deep respect and appreciation towards Uzbek nation. 

It was highlighted that the two fraternal nations are united by enlightened and aspiring young people.

At the end of the event, the People's Artist of Azerbaijan, singer Gulyanakhanim Mammadova made a great impression on the students with her resonant voice and Azerbaijani songs. The famous singer also performed Uzbek music and Navo’i ghazals to the amazement of all participants.

 

The guests expressed special gratitude to TSUULL International Cooperation Office for their efforts in organizing the event in high spirits.
