SEMINAR TRAINING BY TIMES HIGHER EDUCATION
On May 31st, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education, the Agency for Presidential educational institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Times Higher Education Rating Agency organized a seminar-training on “THE World University Rankings (WUR) Global Rating Methodology”. The seminar-training was attended by the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Nozliya Normurodova and the Head of the International Ranking Department of the University Zuhra Hakimova.
The seminar was opened by the Deputy Minister of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan Hakimov Rahim Rasuljonovich. Umarova Hilola Uktamovna, Director of the Presidential Educational Institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Elizabeth Shepard, Managing Director of THE Rating Agency, also delivered their speech. The seminar provided detailed information on THEWUR global ranking methodology.
The seminar discussed ways to raise the status of the university in the international rankings. It also featured a presentation by Lachin Italmazova, Regional Director of THE Rating Agency. Lachin Italmazova gave a detailed explanation of the general requirements required for The Impact Rankings and an analytical platform for sustainable development goals. During the process, the analytical results of higher education institutions of Uzbekistan were reviewed and the staff of the International Rating Department received answers to their questions.
For information, our university was included in the list of top 1000+ universities in April 2022. According to this, Alisher Navo’i Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature has applied for eight of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our university is ranked 600th out of more than 1,000 universities in the world for “Quality Education” (SDG4), “Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions” (SDG16)” and “Gender equality (SDG 5) ”.
