RAUF PARFI: THE POET OF THE FLAME-BREATHING SOUL

An international scientific-practical conference dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the birth of the People's Poet of Uzbekistan, Rauf Parfi, was held with the collaboration of the Alisher Navoiy Museum of Literature, the Institute of Uzbek Language, Literature, and Folklore, and Alisher Navoiy Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature. The conference was titled "Urgent Issues in the Study of Modern Poetry" and saw the participation of prominent scholars, poets, writers, young authors, and fans of Rauf Parfi’s poetry.
In the opening session, speakers highlighted that the great poet Rauf Parfi led an intense creative life despite his short years. His poems celebrate themes such as national unity, divine emotions, and the triumph of goodness. Rauf Parfi is beloved not only by the Uzbek people but also by all Turkic-speaking nations. His poems are understood by all Turkic peoples even without translation, as he frequently used Turkic words in his work. Rauf Parfi also wrote under the pen name Öztürk, emphasizing his connection to Turkic linguistic and cultural traditions.

 

During the event, speakers read examples of the poet’s works and presented academic approaches to analyzing his creative contributions. The conference provided valuable insights into the deep influence of Rauf Parfi’s poetry on Uzbek and Turkic literature, highlighting his significant role in modern poetry.
