OVERVIEW
The lecture ‘SDG 4 Quality Education: What Makes Education Good’ addressed the topics in education from the early childhood care and educational process to the further primary and secondary education locally and internationally. The main point of quality education has been described as ‘Every child has the fundamental right to quality education’ – one that helps them acquire basic literacy and numeracy, enjoy learning without fear and feel valued and included, irrespective of where they come from. Later, main targets of the SDG 4 – free primary and secondary education, equal access to quality pre-primary education, eliminate all discrimination in education, equal access to affordable technical, vocational and higher education, increase the number of people with relevant skills for financial success, universal literacy and numeracy, education for sustainable development and global citizenship, build and upgrade inclusive and safe schools, expand Higher Education Scholarships for developing countries, increase the supply of qualified teachers in developing countries – have been enunciated and their importance has been stressed.
