Meeting with Youth in Need of Special Support
The Rector of Alisher Navo'i Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature, Shuhrat Sirojiddinov, met with the young people assigned to him who reside in the “Nilufar” and “Ittifoq” neighborhoods of Sergeli district, Tashkent city. Accompanied by community activists, the youth leader, and representatives of law-enforcement bodies, he held individual meetings with 10 young men and women.
During the meeting, the main challenges related to youth employment, vocational training, learning sciences and foreign languages were studied. While speaking with young people who regularly miss classes, those registered under probation, individuals with aggressive behavior, and those under preventive supervision, suggestions were discussed to encourage them to pursue higher education. It was also proposed to prepare these youth for university entrance exams with the support of the faculty members of Alisher Navo'i Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature.
In addition, the discussions were held in a sincere and respectful manner, avoiding any negative psychological impact on the youth. The reasons for their registration with relevant state bodies, their personal attitudes toward the situation, concerns about the processes, emotional state, circle of communication, attitudes toward alcohol, and other related matters were studied. Agreements were reached with neighborhood representatives to continue systematic work with these young people.
