II FORUM OF RECTORS OF HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS OF UZBEKISTAN-TAJIKISTAN BOOSTS COLLABORATION, 15 April
On April 15, 2024, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of Uzbekistan convened the II forum of rectors of higher education institutions from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. The forum commenced with a conference themed "2030: Priority Directions for the Development of Higher Education and Science in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan." Attended by a delegation comprising approximately 30 rectors from prestigious higher education institutions, led by the Minister of Education and Science of Tajikistan, Rahim Saidzoda, and over 50 heads of higher education institutions, ministries, and agencies from Uzbekistan, the conference set the stage for significant discussions and collaborations.
Academician Shuhrat Sirojiddinov, Rector of TSUULL, played a pivotal role in the conference, delivering a comprehensive speech outlining the history, mission, achievements, and future plans of the university.
As anticipated, the forum aimed to elevate cooperation between higher education institutions of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan across scientific, educational, methodological, and cultural domains. Memoranda of cooperation were signed between the university and esteemed higher education institutions in Tajikistan.
In a significant step towards fostering closer ties between the two nations, discussions between Ayub Islam Usmonzoda, Rector of Bobojon Gaffarov Khojand State University, and Shuhrat Sirojiddinov paved the way for collaborative efforts. It was agreed upon to establish a center of Alisher Navoi Uzbek language and culture at Khojand State University and to inaugurate a center of Tajik language and culture at TSUULL.
Additionally, mutual cooperation was solidified with the Tajik National University, paving the way for joint and international projects, academic exchanges of professors, teachers, and students, as well as scientific-practical conferences and symposiums.
In essence, the 2nd forum of rectors of Uzbekistan-Tajikistan higher education institutions celebrated the initiation of numerous new projects and positive initiatives, fostering closer collaboration and friendship between the two nations.
