First Steps of Young Scholars

On April 26, 2023, the Society of Young Philologists at the Alisher Navoiy Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature hosted its annual scientific-practical conference titled “Language and Literature: First Steps in Scientific and Practical Research .”This event has become a tradition, aiming to inspire university students towards scientific endeavors, foster innovative thinking, and support young scholars studying philology both in Uzbekistan and around the world.

This year's conference saw enthusiastic participation from students specializing in linguistics, literary studies, translation studies, Uzbek language and literature teaching methodology, and applied philology. The plenary session featured speeches from the university's key figures, including the Rector’s Strategic Development Advisor Nodir Jo'raqo'ziyev, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Odina Jamoliddinova, as well as esteemed professors Nurboy Jabborov, Ziyoda Teshaboyeva, and Gulshan Asilova. They encouraged young scholars to engage in research using modern methodologies, emphasizing healthy academic competition to elevate the quality and depth of their scientific work.

 

The university has established a robust system for guiding students in their research endeavors, with professors actively mentoring their protégés. This continuous support extends to engaging talented students in postgraduate education, which has been yielding positive results. The university’s scientific potential is on the rise each year, with early participants of this traditional conference now contributing to academia across various institutions in the country, pursuing advanced degrees and academic careers. This progress highlights the effectiveness of the scientific initiatives at Alisher Navoiy University.

 

As part of the conference, outstanding articles were recognized in categories such as “Most Relevant Topic,” “Best Scientific Research,” and “Most Diligent Young Specialist.” The winners were duly awarded, celebrating their dedication and contributions to advancing the field of philology.
