A DEPARTMENT OF FOREIGN STUDIES HAS BEEN CREATED

In our country, a lot of work on the study of foreign languages is carried out. On May 6, 2021, under the chairmanship of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a video conference on improving the system of teaching foreign languages was held.
Uzbekistan's policy of openness, its active access to world markets and expansion of international cooperation in all spheres have increased the demand for learning foreign languages. The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan has accepted the Decree No. 5117 of May 19, 2021 "On measures to bring the promotion of foreign language learning in the Republic of Uzbekistan to a qualitatively new level" about the tasks set in this regard. An agency for the promotion of foreign language learning was established under the Cabinet of Ministers.
Pursuant to this decision, the Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature named after Alisher Navoi is also working to promote foreign language learning. Recently, a department of foreign academic literature was opened at the University's Information and Resource Center. An official opening ceremony for the "Department of Foreign Academic books" was held, organized by the Information Resource Center of the Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature named after Alisher Navoi. The event was attended by professors from the department of “Foreign languages and intercultural communication and tourism”. During the event, Vice Rector Zainobiddin Abdurashidov mentioned the relevance of the books collected in this section and will be a great gift for those who study foreign languages. Anvar Sayfullaev, dean of the “Translation Theory and Practice” Department, urged all foreign language teachers to come to the library and work on themselves. Nozliya Normuradova, vice-rector for international cooperation at our university, also reported that the library was opened in accordance with modern requirements. She noted that the library was established in cooperation with the U.S. Embassy as an example of effective work of our university with foreign partners.
