Attention and Care for the Community

On July 4, 2025, Academic Shuhrat Sirojiddinov _ Rector of Alisher Navo'i Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature and Deputy of the Tashkent City Council of People’s Deputies — held an open community dialogue with residents at the “Yangi Darhon” Citizens’ Assembly in the Yangihayot district.

The purpose of the meeting was to directly engage with local residents, learn about their living conditions, identify their daily needs and concerns, and provide on-site solutions to existing issues.

During the dialogue, residents openly discussed a range of challenges they face in daily life: infrastructure shortcomings, youth upbringing, the quality of education, and ways to strengthen the activity and effectiveness of the mahalla system. Academic Sirojiddinov carefully listened to each concern, emphasizing that practical measures would be taken to resolve the issues raised.

Special attention was given to low-income and vulnerable families. The rector personally reviewed their living conditions, and several families received direct material assistance and targeted support, reaffirming the university’s commitment to social protection and community welfare.

Participants also received detailed information about the ongoing national reforms under the leadership of the President. These include initiatives aimed at strengthening the mahalla institution, improving living standards, expanding youth employment opportunities, supporting entrepreneurship, and enhancing the education and healthcare systems.

During separate conversations with mahalla leaders and elders, their opinions and proposals were taken into account. Academic Sirojiddinov noted that such open dialogues serve as an effective platform for understanding citizens’ concerns, addressing their needs, and ensuring genuine social support at the grassroots level.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to continue collaborative, systematic efforts to enrich the community’s social and spiritual life and to further strengthen local development initiatives.
