The Ambassador of China to Uzbekistan Visits Our University

In recent years, the social and cultural partnership between Uzbekistan and the People's Republic of China has reached new heights. This collaboration is particularly evident in the field of education, with significant strides in higher education. On January 22, 2024, the Uzbekistan-China Education Forum was held in Beijing, with plans for the second phase of the forum to take place in Uzbekistan soon.

On November 26, 2024, the Alisher Nava’i Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature had the honor of hosting the Chinese Ambassador to Uzbekistan, His Excellency Yu Jun. He was warmly received by the university’s rector, academician Shukhrat Sirojiddinov, and Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Nargiza Normurodova.

During the discussions, the ambassador highlighted the significant presence of Chinese students and researchers at the university and praised its ongoing collaboration with Chinese higher education institutions. Notably, the university has consistently sent Uzbek language instructors to Shanghai University for several years. Currently, PhD Muazzam Dedaxonova represents the university, teaching Uzbek language courses in Shanghai.

The meeting also underscored the importance of creating opportunities for scholarly research on Central Asian and Turkic historical manuscripts preserved in Chinese institutions. Additionally, the ambassador emphasized revitalizing the Chinese Language and Culture Center, established at the university in 2021. The embassy pledged practical support for this initiative by providing teaching materials and experienced instructors.

Beyond education, the ambassador discussed expanding cooperation with Chinese universities to include joint research, faculty and student exchanges, and strengthening cultural ties. These efforts aim to foster closer educational collaboration between the two nations, preparing future generations to address global challenges and advancing mutually beneficial relations.
