University Students Join the “WikiStipendiya” Camp
The “WikiStipendiya” marathon has already become one of the most inspiring and widely-supported initiatives in our country, particularly among active and ambitious youth. This national project aims to promote knowledge-sharing, develop digital literacy, and encourage young people to contribute to open educational resources.
As part of the marathon, the “WikiOromgoh” educational camp was organized, marking the fourth season of the project. The camp took place on March 4–9 in the Youth Camp located in Bostanliq district, bringing together motivated participants from different regions.
Six active students from our university proudly took part in this inspiring programme. Throughout the camp, participants discussed innovative proposals aimed at strengthening the role of “Wiki-clubs” in higher education institutions. Suggestions focused on expanding student engagement, improving writing skills, and encouraging the creation of high-quality, informative articles on Wikipedia.
An exciting announcement was made during the event: the university club that produces the highest number of well-structured and high-quality articles for Wikipedia will receive a cash award of 150 million UZS. This initiative is designed to stimulate creativity, academic initiative, and teamwork among students across the country.
