On October 11, 2024, Anna Pak, a specialist in Japanese culture and art, delivered a lecture at the TSUULL International Office as part of the #TSUULLTalks series.

Her presentation offered a comprehensive exploration of the cultural and historical context of women’s roles in Japan. She traced their transformation from traditional domestic expectations to modern opportunities in education, career, and leadership. At the same time, Ms. Pak highlighted the ongoing struggles that Japanese women face in achieving equal representation and recognition.

Drawing on her professional expertise and international experience, Ms. Pak emphasized how gender roles in Japan reflect both tradition and modern global challenges.

She also engaged the audience with examples of women’s achievements in contemporary Japanese society, linking them to broader discussions about women’s empowerment worldwide.. The event drew an engaged and diverse audience of students, scholars, and community members who actively participated in discussions and Q&A. It served as a platform for meaningful dialogue, aligning with SDG 5: Gender Equality and reinforcing TSUULL’s mission to promote inclusivity, cultural exchange, and lifelong education.
