TSUULL Welcomes the Uzbekistan MMA Association (UMMAA), 3 November

On 3 November, 2023, a meeting of mixed martial arts champions, professional fighters and TSUULL students was held at University’s Conference Hall with: the President of the Uzbekistan Association of Mixed Martial Arts, Pankration & Grappling (UMMAA) Otabek Musayev, the Head Coach of the National Mixed Martial Arts Team of Uzbekistan, Founder and Director of the Sports Club ‘Fight baza by Khudyakov’ Dmitry Khudyakov, two-time World Champion in Martial Arts Azamat Nuftullayev, professional fighters in mixed martial arts, multiple world, Asian, Uzbekistan Champions – Doston Bozorov, Marufjon Mamarazikov, Hilola Sobirova, Umida Abdullayeva, Mushtari Khodzhimuhamedova

The champions and their coaches told the students about the advantages and difficulties of playing sports, the secrets of becoming a champion, their family, their childhood and how they were able to achieve such achievements thanks to their hard work. The performance of female athletes made a big impression on the students. The motivational speeches of the athletes about the fact that life itself consists of struggles in order to overcome these struggles, it is necessary to have a strong will, a clear goal, a desire and to show respect and love to parents and coaches, entered the hearts of the students.

  

At the end of the meeting, Dmitry Khudyakov invited the students to the ‘Fight base by Khudyakov’ Sports Club. It was also agreed to hold a practical meeting with the champions at the University sports complex.

Headed by President Umarov Otabek Mukhammadalievich, the UMMAA is registered as non-profit organisation with Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Justice and recognised and funded by the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sport, as the country’s first and only governing body for MMA.

The registration of the Uzbekistan MMA Association on 23 October 2019 opened a new chapter for the sport in Uzbekistan, as it obtained legal recognition for the first time. The UMMAA has already signed up 7,000 members indicating the popularity of the sport locally and the timeliness of this development.
