TSUULL Talks Program: Guest Lecture on Sustainability Through Human Rights and International Justice
A series of short presentations delivered, organized and hosted by TSUULL University and made accessible for all. These public-talks enhance skills related to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, while fostering the involvement of institutions of higher education as valuable stakeholders to achieve the Goals.
On 3 March 2023, Viacheslav Samonov, a lawyer, human rights defender and Sakharov Fellow 2021 delivered a public lecture about the nature of human rights, its types and the connection with Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.
Most of the content of fundamental human rights had been included into SDGs, for instance health, education, gender equality, and women’s empowerment.
SDG 16 provides the framework for enhancing the promotion and protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms. Goal 16 also provides the space to consider the contribution of academia to a more equitable and just world, in which human dignity is preserved, despite prevailing global, regional, national and local challenges and circumstances.
