
TSUULL Delegation Discussed The Role Of Navoi’s Literary Heritage At The International Conference ‘Alisher Navoi and the 21st century’ in Azerbaijan, 7-8 February
The international conference on 'Alisher Navo’i and the 21st Century' was held at Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences in cooperation with Nizamiy Ganjavi Institute of Literature. In 2023 for the first time that Conference is being held outside Uzbekistan (which has been organizing the event for the last 8 years).
More than 100 scientists and public figures from the USA, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Hungary, Tajikistan and other countries participated in the Conference, where they discussed the role of Navoi’s literary heritage in world civilization, the translation of the poet’s works into foreign languages, issues of textual studies, and the study of Navo’i’s works in educational programme.
President of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, Academician Isa Habibbayli, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Azerbaijan Bahrom Ashrafkhanov, Director of the Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center of Azerbaijan in Uzbekistan, First Secretary of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Uzbekistan Samir Abbasov and many honored guests attended the Conference.
It was agreed to hold such International Conference annually in prestigious scientific centers abroad in order to further enhance the international significance of the conference. Another important aspect of this year’s conference was the establishment of Alisher Navo’i Medal, which was awarded during the event by Alisher Navo’i Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature, to modern scientists promoting the Uzbek language, literature, and culture both in Uzbekistan and all around the world.
