Substantially reduce corruption and bribery in all their forms

Corruption represents a major threat to rule of law and sustainable development the world over. It has a disproportionate, destructive impact on the poor and most vulnerable, and it is also bad for the young generation as a whole. As we all know, by the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the fight against corruption has been raised to the level of state policy. In this regard, A. Nasriddinov, the head of anti-corruption control department, visited Ahangaran district in order to give a presentation on vulneralbe topic regarding corruption on April 28. A.Nasriddinov described university program which describes why and how we work with anti-corruption, and gave a brief description on the most common forms of corruption, such as bribery, kickbacks, facilitation payments, conflicts of interest, probation of payments to public officials, fraud, and extortion. He also mentioned that this project supports the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). SDG 16 specifically deals with “Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions,” and target 16.5 of this goal is “Substantially reduce corruption and bribery in all their forms.”

Ohangaron district representatives were really interested in the program and they asked for different approaches regarding control and fighting against the corruption.
