SEMINAR - TRAINING ON USA HIGHER EDUCATION EXPERIENCES

 Zaure Kertaeva, the teacher of Intercultural Communication and Tourism Department, conducted a seminar-training based on her experiences at Pennsylvania State University through Faculty Enrichment Program of American Councils for International Education. The talk entitled ‘’Developing students’ autonomous learning” focused on students’ academic success challenges and how to facilitate their independent learning. In particular, the ideas concerning syllabus design, assessment system improvements, student success programs and projects, new approaches to teacher and students roles and academic integrity policy have been suggested. Zaure Kertaeva claims all those contribute to support students’ academic life and challenges and help them to become better learners. The talk raised lots of discussions and ideas and helped faculty teachers to update their knowledge and discover new philosophies about teacher - student responsibilities in higher education.
