Public talks for all: TSUULL Active Learning Environment Overview: Core And Supporting Activities in September – October’22

Introducing our new initiative: our Public Lecture Program TSUULL Talks forms part of the University's efforts to contribute knowledge, thought-leadership and innovative ideas to the region.

The Program showcases dynamic speakers through a number of community-focused talks across a range of disciplines, encouraging constructive debate on issues of regional and global relevance. The public lectures provide a chance to hear firsthand from world-leading researchers and subject-matter experts speaking on topics that affect us all.

TSUULL Talks, a series of short, informal presentations delivered by the University international office. It is hoped that the format of the talks will help to make them nimble intellectual resources for the community and a forum for enrichment across diverse fields of expertise.

Our aim is to offer to TSUULL Students a programme that will inform, stimulate, entertain, and excite. We're sharing the best through a series of free online public lectures.
TSUULL's Public Talks are always free to attend, they are aimed at the general public, not specialists. They are open to anyone interested in ideas and debate and are completely free of charge.
Our 2022 lectures in September and October covered everything from Sustainable Urban Development, Recycling and Environmental Issues, Waste-to-Energy Development, Gender Equality, Youth Engagement, Cultural Diversity, Art and Language Concept to Supporting Communities.

200+ students and non-university participants took part in TSUULL Talks held by the University.
Over the month TSUULL hosted 7 live interviews with 8 Experts from 6 EU and non-EU countries including Solenne Horellou, Bella Shakhmirza, Liz Roth, Diora Madulloeva, Kseniia Nifontova, Alexander. A. Smotritsky and Kirill Lukianov on topics ranging from cultural identity and international development to indigenous knowledge.
Several topics around urbanization and sustainable cities were covered, all working to give the viewer a greater understanding of urban development and how it has been used in conjunction with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
The University undertakes educational outreach activities beyond campus, in the community, including voluntary student run schemes on gender equality, women’s rights, women entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, the role of women in global context and women’s empowerment as well.
Also TSUULL launched a Discussion Club, and at the first meeting along with Gulnoza Jurayeva, TSUULL Women’s Club Head  and Sofia Sedykh, Gender Equality Activist we were speaking about Gender and principles you care about Gender Equality.

‘Early marriage is a global issue. It is fueled by gender inequality, poverty, and social norms. It happens across countries, cultures, religions and ethnicities. Moreover, it  seriously harms the development and well-being of girls through limited education and employment opportunities and social isolation’ – Gulnoza Jurayeva, TSUULL Women’s Council Head
We’re committed to continuing our progress to make our activities more sustainable in support of achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): to prepare a special workshop for environmental issues we invited Said Isaev – eco-activist in Uzbekistan who starts first to make plastic recycling in design and focuses on recycling education in Tashkent. Thus we held the eco-workshop where students learned about the importance of waste reduction and what they can do to help. The workshop challenges students, staff and the community to make a difference in the world by practicing waste recycling.

We are currently planning the 2022/23 series and will be sharing details shortly. To be the first to hear about our online public lecture series, and other events, please sign up to TSUULL Channel in Telegram: https://t.me/tsuullinternational

In these activities for TSUULL university students we focus on how to encourage student activity and engagement during lectures in order to support students' learning.

We believe in the value of ideas that make a difference and have been bringing leading thinkers from around the world to TSUULL University since 2022.
