What is Social Cohesion and Inclusive Societies?
Social cohesion refers to the strength of relationships and the sense of solidarity among members of a community. An inclusive society is one where all individuals, regardless of background, gender, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status, feel valued and are able to participate fully. Together, these principles aim to:
• Reduce discrimination and inequality in communities.
• Promote dialogue, trust, and shared identity.
• Support peace, justice, and strong institutions.
• Encourage regional collaboration and integration.
By advancing inclusivity, societies become more resilient, just, and sustainable, aligning with SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.
