Promoting Girls’ Access to Education: Expanding Opportunities for the Future

In line with Presidential Decree No. PQ-103 dated March 14, 2025, aimed at further enhancing the system of support for families and women, Alisher Navoi Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature is actively implementing a number of important initiatives. The decree highlights the necessity of expanding educational opportunities for women, increasing their access to higher education, and strengthening social protection measures.

As part of this nationwide effort, the university is working proactively within the Yakkasaroy and Bektemir districts, guided by a dedicated roadmap. In particular, strategic partnerships have been established with Secondary School No. 73 in Yakkasaroy and Secondary School No. 290 in Bektemir. “University Corners” were set up in these schools to raise awareness about academic programs offered by the university. These corners showcase comprehensive information on available study areas—such as Uzbek language and literature, translation studies, journalism, and more—alongside details on admission quotas, passing scores, modes of study (daytime, part-time, online), and the advantages of studying at the university. The design of these spaces was developed to appeal to youth, enhanced with engaging visual materials.

To ensure widespread accessibility, a special section has also been launched on the university’s official website, featuring detailed information about academic programs, admission procedures, and motivational content. These resources were converted into QR codes and displayed on banners placed in school foyers for easy access. In addition, informational flyers, brochures, and banners were distributed to provide students and parents with essential details in a convenient format. These materials emphasize the university’s modern educational facilities, scholarship programs, social stipends, and targeted support initiatives for young women.

The university has also mobilized leading professors and students to participate in outreach activities, organizing meetings with female students and their parents in the assigned districts. These interactive sessions focused on the value of higher education, career options for girls, and the overall student experience at the university. Special preparatory courses and additional classes have been offered for girls from socially vulnerable families, increasing their chances of successfully entering higher education.

These efforts are expected to significantly increase girls’ interest in pursuing higher education. Alisher Navo’i University invites all young women to take the next step toward a brighter academic future. For girls from families in need of social support, dedicated programs and opportunities are available, reaffirming the university’s commitment to inclusive education. With full alignment to national policy, the university pledges to continue and expand its mission to unlock the potential of women through quality education.
