A Preventive Awareness Session Was Held With Students
A high level of legal culture is the foundation of a democratic society and a reflection of the maturity of its legal system. Therefore, expanding the legal knowledge of students and ensuring that young people develop a strong sense of legal awareness is of great importance. In this regard, close cooperation between educational institutions and law-enforcement agencies plays a crucial role.
On May 22 of this year, Alisher Navo'i Tashkent State University of the Uzbek Language and Literature, in cooperation with the Yakkasaroy District Court, organized a roundtable discussion on “Legal Culture and Criminal Law: Preventing Crime” for students and a group of young people attached to the university. The event featured Judge Farhod Abdushukurov of the Yakkasaroy District Court and Senior Assistant to the Yakkasaroy District Prosecutor, Sevara Saidjonova.
During the roundtable, explanations were provided on how to legally assess common situations encountered among youth, as well as on avoiding actions that may unintentionally constitute criminal behavior. Legal experts gave detailed answers to questions raised by students. It was noted that many offenses committed by young people today stem from legal illiteracy. “Ignorance of the law does not exempt one from responsibility,” the legal specialists emphasized. They highlighted the importance of every individual knowing their rights and duties, controlling their behavior, and adhering to social norms.

Additionally, the head of the university’s “Compliance Control” Department on Anti-Corruption, Abdug‘ani Nasriddinov, provided students with recommendations on preventing corruption-related situations.
During the event, a group of socially vulnerable and low-income students who require state support received material assistance from the university administration. It was emphasized that the university community remains committed to supporting these young people in building their future and continuing their education.
