The Power of Food and SDG 1: TSUULL Students Supports People Facing Homelessness, 19 October 2024

On Saturday 19 October 2024, showing the importance of social integration and making awareness of the problem of homeless people and their need to have warm meals TSUULL Bachelor Students participated in the event distributing the meals among homeless people together as one family. It was organized by Food for Life Initiative https://forlife.uz/ as a part of Food for Life Global https://ffl.org/ - international non-profit vegan food relief organization founded in 1995 to serve as the headquarters for Food Yoga International projects.

Connecting students and community with food resources is an important way to reduce food insecurity which is also an issue for both homeless and low-income populations.

Providing warm meal to homeless people is more than just filling hungry stomachs; it's about making a positive difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals and helping to shape a more inclusive, understanding society.

– Maftuna Turaeva, TSUULL Bachelor Student:

‘When people engage in activities such as feeding the homeless, it promotes sustainability and reduces environmental impact, they raise awareness about homelessness and its underlying issues. This increased understanding can help dispel misconceptions and stereotypes, encouraging more compassionate perspectives towards those experiencing homelessness.’
