Major New Uzbek Language and Cultural Centre to Open in Iran, 20 November

On 20 November 2023, TSUULL was honored to meet the Iranian Delegation headed by Amir Said Karami, Cultural Consul of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Uzbekistan. Within the framework of the official visit of the Iranian Delegation the parties discussed the partnership with the University in the field of cultural affairs. 

The guests were welcomed by TSUULL Rector Prof.Dr. Shuhrat Sirojiddinov and Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Prof.Dr. Nozliya Normurodova: they presented the University, its cycles and study programs as well as the international dimension of the University and participation in various international programs for students. Also they emphasized TSUULL is a small university but strives towards the best quality education available to students in Tashkent and the region.

In order to further expand and develop mutual relations, an offer was made to open the Center of Iranian Culture at University to carry out the research of ancient sources on Persian or Iranian History, the written sources in the Persian Language, the translation of examples of modern Uzbek Literature into the Persian Language and vice versa, the works of Iranian writers into Uzbek Language. This Centre will also provide an opportunity to learn the Persian Language for free of charge.

  

Proposals for opening the Uzbek Language and Cultural Centre at Tabriz University in Iran were also discussed. Concrete plans have been drawn up to organize research conferences, seminars, short-term and long-term (3-6 months) internships/academic exchanges of students and mid-career professionals. 

Based on the needs of the university, the issue of attracting experienced specialists in Persian Language and Aruz Science from Iran was also approved. It was agreed to celebrate at TSUULL in cooperation with the Iranian Embassy the Yaldā Night or Chelle Night, an ancient festival in Iran and one of the traditional holidays. An offer to organize a Book Exhibition with the participation of famous Iranian publishers was also made.
