Discovering Uzbek Language and Culture: A Journey of Learning and Connection

In accordance with the visionary decree issued by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, No.19 dated January 12, 2024, Bursa Uludag University proudly hosts the Alisher Navo'i Uzbek Language and Culture Center. This initiative, established under the esteemed guidance of Alisher Navo'i Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature, marks a significant step towards fostering deeper cultural understanding and academic exchange between Uzbekistan and Türkiye.

Since its inception on February 8, 2024, the Center has become a vibrant hub of activity, dedicated to promoting the rich heritage of Uzbekistan through a variety of cultural programs, language courses, and educational initiatives. One of the key objectives of the Center is to offer Turkish students and enthusiasts an opportunity to explore the Uzbek language, history, traditions, and vibrant cultural tapestry.

Under the expert guidance of Ms. Durdona Ermatova, a distinguished teacher from TSUULL 'Uzbek school', approximately fifty Turkish learners have enthusiastically embarked on their journey to master the Uzbek language. Reflecting on their experience, Gokchen Gurel, a dedicated student of the Uzbek language, shares, 'Learning the Uzbek language seemed easy, because the Uzbek language and the Turkish language are very close to each other. But every language has its own charm. We really enjoy the online lessons and are learning the language with interest.'

Through a series of online classes and engaging lectures on Uzbekistan's bilateral relations with Türkiye, the Center aims to not only facilitate language acquisition but also to deepen cultural appreciation and foster lasting friendships between our nations.

As we continue to stride forward in this journey of academic and cultural exchange, we invite all students and members of our community to participate actively in the diverse range of programs offered by the Alisher Navo'i Uzbek Language and Culture Center. Together, let us embrace the beauty of linguistic diversity and celebrate the timeles bonds that unite our two nations.
