To educate students as qualified specialists, humanists who understand the essence of social, economic, political, spiritual and cultural tasks solved in the process of strengthening the independence of our country, to form critical thinking skill and ethical basis of self-consciousness in independent creative activities and team management skills in future specialties, help to find their place in life and determine their own destiny, to explain the confidence in the future, the future of our country, the greatness of their achievements in all areas. 

Duties of the department

• Continuous improvement of the management system in the process of spiritual and pedagogical education;
• Development of plans and programs of spiritual and pedagogical education and control over their implementation;
• Familiarizing students, professor and teachers with the speeches of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, orders of the Cabinet of Ministers in time, and organization of comprehensive explanatory work;
• Establishment of a system for improving the teacher-student system;
• Helping in organization of effective counselling hours conducted by teachers and tutors;
• Organization of constructive "Spirituality Day" events at the university;
• Holding meetings on various educational issues;
• Improving the system of cooperation with law enforcement institutions in order to prevent crime;
• Organizing meaningful leisure time of students;
• Setting up regular monitoring of the living conditions of students living in dormitories and rented accommodation;
• Supervision of sports and health facilities, personal services, nutrition, recreation at the university to ensure the uninterrupted, high-quality operation;
• Organization of various competitions, festivals, sports competitions, olympiads at the university;
• Prevention of restriction of the rights and abuse of professors, staff and students of the University on the basis of nationality, sex, health, religion, appearance and race, preservation of gender equality of woman and man, to create conditions for their free creativity and reveal of talents.
• To help families with low-income and families needing social security, orphans and bereaved students to find their place in society, to form the necessary skills and to involve them in scientific and professional extra-curricular activities based on their interests, to provide appropriate benefits if necessary;
• Organization of events on various topics on the occasion of holidays and birthdays of scientists;
• Organization of visits by students and teachers to cinemas, museums, historical sightseeing places;
• Preparation of the students for conscientious performance of duties as a citizen and son and daughter of Motherland

Rights and responsibilities of the department

• To make proposals to the rector in case of non-fulfillment of the set of spiritual and educational work of professors and teachers of the university specified in the employment contract.
• To make proposals regarding the expulsion or reinstatement of students.
• The following should be agreed with the Vice-Rector for Youth Affairs:
• Orders on transfer, expulsion, reinstatement, encouragement or punishment of students during the academic year;
• to make proposals on social protection of professors and teachers, students, researchers with low income and in need of social protection;
• to make recommendations on the results of various competitions and organize their awarding;
• Selection of candidates for special scholarships named after the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as Navoi and Beruni from among students and researchers;
• to form groups of teachers and students for training, exchange of experience, professional development and working abroad;
• issues related to employment contracts, attestation and staffing.
