The Department of Psychology and Sociology was established based on Decision No. 1 of the University Academic Council dated August 28, 2025, and is considered an important academic unit that carries out educational and scientific research activities in the fields of psychology, sociology, and social work.
At the department, specialists are trained in the full-time education system for the following bachelor's degree programs: 60310300 – Psychology, 60310400 – Sociology, 60920100 – Social Work, as well as in distance education for the Psychology and Social Work specialties.
In addition, specialists are trained in the full-time and distance education systems for the following master's degree programs: 70310301 – Psychology, 70920101 – Social Work, as well as in distance education for the Psychology and Social Work specialties.
Currently, 30 professors and teachers are working at the department.
In particular, the department includes: 3 professors, Doctors of Science (DSc),
13 candidates of science and Doctors of Philosophy (PhD), and associate professors,
14 senior lecturers and lecturers, who are engaged in scientific and pedagogical activities. The scientific potential of the department is 53.3%.

The department sets the goal of providing in-depth teaching of the subjects of psychology, sociology, and social work, as well as training competitive specialists in these fields. Special attention is given to developing students’ personal and socio-spiritual consciousness, psychological stability, and values of humanism and tolerance.
A Center for Psychological Services has been established under the Department of Psychology and Sociology. The center’s motto is: "Towards a new life through soul transformation!"
Nowadays, in an era where the value of psychological well-being, internal stability, and clarity of mind is of great importance, the Center for Psychological Services aims to introduce deep psychological knowledge and experience into society and is recognized as one of the centers aimed at addressing mental health problems in society.

This place is not only a center of professional approach but also a place of sincere communication, trust, and psychological relief. The center's activities serve to reach the heart of every student and teacher, awaken their inner potential, and bring their quality of life to a new level.

Priority tasks of the department:
- Organizing scientific-practical seminars and conferences on the department’s scientific directions and participating with articles in scientific and analytical popular publications;
- Conducting scientific research and technical work, solving professional issues in scientific teams, working with information resources, collecting and analyzing scientific data, and applying advanced scientific results into practice;
- Participating in sociological and psychological research in scientific institutions and centers, conducting experimental studies in scientific centers, analyzing and evaluating their results, and performing types of professional activities;
- Developing project and program documents related to the provision of psychological and sociological services, evaluating projects, sources, literature, and electronic video and audio materials related to the field;
- Searching for modern scientific achievements via the Internet, systematically analyzing topic-related information, and using it in the creation of scientific developments;
- Cooperating with foreign and local higher education institutions and scientific centers on research in the fields of psychology and sociology, integrating international experience, and developing practical proposals and recommendations based on research results;
- Developing modern approaches and methods of the social field in professional activity, and solving them in cooperation with scientific research and production teams.

The department cooperates in scientific and pedagogical activities with the following foreign and local organizations:
- 1. The Karaganda Scientific Research University named after E.A. Buketov of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which ranks 801+ in the QS world university rankings – cooperation has been ongoing for 4 years;
- 2. The Republican Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment – cooperation has been ongoing for 3 years;
- 3. A contract has been signed with the "M-Vector" Limited Liability Foreign Enterprise;
- 4. A cooperation agreement has been signed with the Institute for the Study of Youth Problems and Training of Promising Personnel under the Youth Affairs Agency;
- 5. A contract has been concluded with Nazar Business and Technology LLC;
- 6. In 2025, a contract was signed with the “Leader Children’s School” NTM to organize student internships;
- 7. In the field of Social Work, there is a cooperation agreement with the National Agency for Social Protection under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as part of the Ministry of Higher Education and Innovation.
