The department of part time education

The department of Extramural studies is the part of university administration; it is a structure that educates undergraduate students, organizes the educational and upbringing process harmoniously and consistently, trains scientific-pedagogical specialists, as well as coordinates fulfillment of scientific research projects. 
The aims of the department

• Training of highly qualified teachers who have a deep understanding of the Uzbek language and literature, its peculiarities, modern educational technologies, and meet contemporary requirements;
• Conducting research on new and effective methods of teaching the Uzbek language and literature in secondary schools and academic lyceums, higher education institutions, widely implementing advanced pedagogical technologies;
• Training of highly qualified competitive specialists meeting the requirements of the labor market;
• The department functions in accordance with Laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Decrees and Resolutions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Resolutions of the Legislative Chamber and the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Resolutions and Orders of the Cabinet of Ministers, Normative-legal acts of Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan on science and education, as well as regulations of Alisher Navoi Tashkent State University of Uzbek language and literature.

Duties of the department

• To ensure performance and relevant tasks of Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 13 May, 2016 PF-4797 “On establishment of Alisher Navoi Tashkent State University of Uzbek language and literature”;
• To organize the educational process on the basis of the "Regulations on the organization of part-time (special part-time) education in higher education" approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 21, 2017 No 930 "On approval of the Regulations on the organization of part-time (special part-time) and evening (shift) education in higher education";
• To work out program of development of part-time studies;
• To draw up contracts with employers for the organization of student internships;
• To ensure the implementation of new teaching technologies and monitor student learning;
• To coordinate and approve the topics of graduate paper work of students;
• To take measures to increase the effectiveness of teaching and educational work with students;
• To organize labor protection, technical and fire safety, compliance with internal rules and norms of labor discipline by the employees of the department;
• To plan, organize and coordinate teaching and research work of professors and teachers who provide the educational process;
• To take measures to create virtual communication between teachers and students (e-mail exchange, communication through the university website, video conferencing);
• Communication with the workplaces of part-time students and regular monitoring;
• To protect and to implement the interests of part-time education at meetings of the Academic Council of the university, administration, faculties and departments within their competence;
• To assign professor-teachers in part-time education to supervise the course and graduate paper of students;
• To ensure interaction of the department of part-time education with other structures of the university.

Rights and responsibilities of the department.
To interact with executive bodies, as well as faculties and departments of the university on issues within the competence of the department in accordance with the established procedure.
