TSUULL International Office Project Managers Participated in the Workshop ‘Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment’, organised by UN Women and UN Global Compact, 24 November

On 24 November 2023, TSUULL Partnerships Manager and Public-Talks Program Coordinator Lucy Aysaeva and Project Manager and Greenmetrics Rankings Coordinator Madina Ochilova took part in the Workshop on ‘Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment’, organised by UN Global Compact Uzbekistan in collaboration with UN Women Uzbekistan and Artel Electronics LLC.

The workshop was specifically tailored for professionals across various sectors, including corporate, financial, and government, who share a common interest in gaining a deeper understanding of gender equality and women's empowerment issues in business. This event provided participants with a unique opportunity to explore both the fundamental aspects and practical methodologies of assessing and managing gender equality concerns. In addition, the organisers delved into specific standards, tools, requirements and real-world case studies that offer valuable insights into the field.

The workshop was organised with UN Women Uzbekistan and Artel Electronics. UN Women is an esteemed organization dedicated to championing gender equality and women's empowerment. Their expertise and experience in this field will undoubtedly enrich the discussions and provide valuable perspectives.

All invited participants of the workshop familiarized themselves with the resources related to the ‘Women's Empowerment Principles’ (WEPs) – which are a set of Principles offering guidance to business on how to advance gender equality and women's empowerment in the workplace, marketplace and community. Established by UN Women and UN Global Compact, the WEPs are informed by international labor and human rights standards and grounded in the recognition that businesses have a stake in and a responsibility for, gender equality and women's empowerment.
WEPs are a primary vehicle for corporate delivery on gender equality dimensions of the 2030 agenda and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

These principles serve as a valuable foundation, allowing you to gain a deeper understanding of gender equality and women's empowerment and prepare for more constructive discussions and knowledge exchange during the event.
