Stipendium Hungaricum calls for applications amongst Uzbekistan citizens for the 2024/2025 academic year!
STIPENDIUM HUNGARICUM CALLS FOR APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2024-2025 ACADEMIC YEAR!
The Hungarian Government established the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship programme to promote the internationalisation of Hungarian higher education and to attract top international students from all around the world who can establish personal and professional links to Hungary while enjoying high-quality education in the heart of Europe.
When graduates return to their home countries with marketable skills and knowledge, they can build social, political and economic relationships, thus contributing to extending and deepening cooperation between Hungary and their home countries.
The deadline to apply for the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship program announced by the Hungarian government is January 15, 2024 at 14:00 (CET). Within the framework of this scholarship program, the Hungarian side will provide a total of 170 scholarships for citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the 2024/2025 academic year in the following order:
- - 20 positions for bachelor's degree;
- - 10 positions for bachelor's degree is combined with master's degree, that is, documents are submitted according to the bachelor's degree, which also includes the master's degree (OTM - One time master), the duration of study depends on the degree of education 5 or 6 years depending;
- - 60 positions for master's degree;
- - 60 positions for doctoral studies (PhD);
- - 20 positions to study at the University of Physical Education (in Budapest).
Scholarships can also be used for short-term courses at Hungarian universities.
The coordinator from Uzbekistan is the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

In connection with paragraph 3.4.2 of the "Call for Applications", online or paper-based submission of documents to the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan is not required. All documents are to be sent online directly to the platform indicated by Tempus Public Foundation (Hungarian coordinator of this scholarship program). At the initial stage, documents are carefully examined by Hungary, and all documents that do not meet the selection requirements are removed from the list. After consultation with the relevant Hungarian higher education institutions, the Hungarian side will send the short-listed applicants’ list to the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan for evaluation, and the Ministry will rank the candidates from 1 to 170 (main list) and then rank sequentially from 170 to 340 (backup). Based on the total number of applicants, the final decision on the admission of the candidate is taken by Hungary. The decision of the Hungarian university where the candidate took the exam is taken into account. If necessary, the Ministry of Uzbekistan, the Hungarian university or the coordinators may invite the candidate to an online interview.
The position of candidates on the list is determined within strictly allocated quotas — 20 (bachelor), 10 — (master’s degree combined with bachelor’s), 60 — (master’s), 60 — (doctorate), 20 — University of Physical Education (Budapest.). The order of placement (evaluation) in the list according to sequence (priority) is determined based on the priorities of personnel training in Uzbekistan. Preference will be given to those applying for engineering and technology, as well as medicine, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, chemistry, geology, physics, information technology, artificial intelligence, energy, alternative energy sources and other similar fields. Work experience in a higher education institution, knowledge of foreign languages will be important. The privilege is given not to those who want to graduate in 2024, but to those who have completed one or two years by January 15, 2024. Candidates who want to continue their professional activities in the republic, especially in the system of higher, secondary special and professional education, scientific centers of the republic and similar institutions are supported.
