Azerbaijan scientific research center named after Fuzuli

Muhammad Fuzuli is a beloved poet, with his precious works, which is believed to be to the treasure of world literature as priceless gems, not only of Azerbaijan, but also of the nations of Central Asia, including Uzbek people. Given the strategic importance of relations between our brother republics, it should be noted that bilateral relations require cooperation not only in the economic and political spheres, but also in the socio-cultural and educational spheres. In this regard, the Fuzuli Research Center was established at the university to study the literature of the Turkic peoples, including Uzbek-Azerbaijani literary relations.


Features of the center

The Uzbek-Azerbaijani Scientific Research Center named after Fuzuli at the Alisher Navo’i Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature was established in October 2019. Gulbahor Ashurova is the head of this center, Associate professor, candidate of philological sciences.

The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Uzbekistan established a cultural center and with the collaboration of university named after Haydar Aliev in order to consider the need to expand humanitarian cooperation between the two nations in the field of language, literature, literary relations and culture, cooperation in this field is one of the main priorities in the development of bilateral relations

The cooperation areas of the center are as follows:

● organizing and supporting the academic exchange of specialists and creative staff;

● scientific exchange of poets and writers, researchers, scientists;

● support the exchange of publications on literature, culture, art;

● joint holding of a number of humanitarian events (master classes, book presentations, book translation, lectures, language courses, literary meetings, youth evenings, concert programs, theatrical performances based on literary works);

● Facilitate the mutual invitation of teachers and specialists to conferences, seminars, scientific and literary symposiums, competitions and festivals, master classes;

● Co-translation and publication of books on current issues of literature and classics of both sides;

● liaising and collaborating between organizations' libraries;

● Establishment of a working group consisting of translators, linguists to translate works of Uzbek-Azerbaijani and Azerbaijani-Uzbek artists;

● At the initiative of the Uzbek-Azerbaijani Scientific Research Center named after Fuzuli to organize various events dedicated to the anniversaries of artists in bilateral cooperation, etc.

The opening ceremony of the center

The Uzbek-Azerbaijani Research Center named after Fuzuli was established on October 19, 2019 at the Alisher Navo’i Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center.

The event “Friendship” dedicated to the 650th anniversary of Imamiddin Nasimi was attended by the head of the Azerbaijan National Cultural Center named after Firdavsiy Huseynov.

2019, February. The head of the Culture Committee of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan, poet, writer, political scientist Ganira Poshshayeva and director of the Heydar Aliyev Azerbaijan Cultural Center Samir Abbasov visited the center.

In order to develop the culture of reading at our university, to familiarize the younger generation with the literature of ancestral nations. Vice-Rector for Youth Affairs and Spiritual Enlightenment Bahodir Khalikov, Head of the Center Gulbahor Ashurova, Professor Saodat Muhammedova welcomed a  high-level guest at the Center. Extensive conversations were held with the guests. Prospective activities, plans for the development of literary relations were discussed. The conversation was followed by a presentation of Ganira Poshshayeva's book "Step by Step Uzbekistan".

Presentation of the journal "Turkology"

 

The presentation of the international indexed journal "Turkology" took place at the center in October 2020. Visit of the editor of the journal, doctor of philological sciences, professor Elchin Ibragimov.

 

The 880th anniversary of Sheikh Nizami Ganjavi and the 580th anniversary of Alisher Navo’i

Presentation of the dictionary book "Uzbek - Azerbaijani, Azerbaijani - Uzbek"

Professor Shuhrat Sirojiddinov is the editor-in-chief of this historical dictionary. The presentation of the book was organized at the initiative of the center.

Visit of Navoi-scholar Almaz Ulvi

In February 2020, the head of the department of "Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan literary relations" of the Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, Professor Almaz Ulvi visited the center. Along with the presentation of the scholar's books, master classes were organized.

Study of Nizami and Navoi "Khamsa"

Every year in February, a comparative study of Nizami’s and Navoi’s "Khamsa" is held, and a meeting is held between Navo’i scholars and students.

Presentations of books on Azerbaijani literature, history, culture and art published during the year are held regularly.

 

The Uzbek-Azerbaijani Research Center named after Fuzuli at the Alisher Navo’i Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature was established in October 2019. The expansion of humanitarian cooperation between the two nations in the fields of language, literature, literary relations and culture is well established at the center.

Aimed at strengthening the relations between our nations, the center has many books that allow students to study the Azerbaijani language on the basis of modern methods, and help students to learn the subtleties of both languages ​​and literature. We express our deep gratitude to our teacher Gulbahor Ashurova, who organized the activities of the Fuzuli Center, and to our Rector Shuhrat Samariddinovich, who supported and developed the wide-ranging development of international relations.

 

 The Fuzuli Uzbek-Azerbaijani Research Center at the Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature is a place that unites lovers of folk literature. The center is formed in cooperation with the Science and Culture Center of the Embassy of Azerbaijan and organizes a number of events. The members of the center carry out joint programs with higher education centers in Baku, Shomakhi and Ganja. I wish success to the activities of the center, and thank the organizers.

 

 

The members of the center carry out joint programs with higher education centers in Baku and Shusha. The Fuzuli Center regularly hosts international conferences, seminars, symposia and events. Activists of the Fuzuli Center are actively involved in international projects under the programs of Turkic-speaking countries. In 2019, Baku hosted an international conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Maqsud Shaykhzoda, in which our students also took an active part online and won honorable mentions. We express our deep gratitude to the organizers of the Center and wish them success in their future international activities.

Rector Shuhrat Sirojiddinov was awarded the title of Honorary Professor by the Director of the Institute of Literature of the Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, Academician Isa Habibeyli. January 2021
