Course content:
Computer linguistics teaches how to analyze, process, and generate human language using computers. It focuses on developing technologies like natural language processing (NLP), machine translation, and speech recognition. Students learn about linguistic structures (syntax, semantics, and morphology) and how to model them computationally. They also explore machine learning techniques to build algorithms that understand or produce language. The field provides tools to bridge the gap between human communication and artificial intelligence.
